There's More to Spring Cleaning!
It's officially March, and I don't know about you, but to me that means it's spring! We may not have perfect spring weather or blooming flowers in our yards yet, but we do have the opportunity to prepare for this next season of our life. Realistically, this may look like deep cleaning the house and getting the garden ready, but what about ourselves? What about the goals we set two months ago? I think, so often, we measure our chance of growing only for the new year, but why? That adds unnecessary pressure, fear, and expectations on ourselves.
Spring is a season of growth, change, and rejuvenation, which means it can be these things for us too. You may actually have a closet that needs organized, but instead of only cleaning the physical things in our life this spring, what if we focused inward. Do you have goals that have been neglected? Have you been dismissing your mental health? I think we have given far too much power to societal expectations, rather than our own realities.

Now that we have established we need some internal spring cleaning (me included), how do we actually do that? I would encourage you to spend some time reflecting - on prior and new goals/dreams, your needs, how you can grow, etc. Giving yourself space to reflect will create a clearer vision for this spring.
Just like spaces in our houses, our thoughts and mindsets can become messy, but it only takes a little TLC to get us back on track! Just because we didn't stick to our new year resolution, doesn't mean we are failures or that we have to wait again until next year. You can start now!
As you give yourself space to reorganize your thoughts and ideas here are some reminders and tips to help you grow!
Your goal does not have to have a size limit! Whether it's you making your bed in the morning or you running 10 miles a day, all goals are important!
Your growth will not look like everyone else's, and that is okay! Let this motivate you to be your self as you go through different seasons of your life.
If you can't think of an area you would like to grow, try something new and out of your comfort zone! This may spark a new joy in your life!
Give yourself grace as you work on these things. Change is not meant to be easy, therefore you will probably go through some rough patches. That means you are growing!
Lastly, don't be afraid to reflect on your goals again whenever you need to - you don't have to wait until a new month or season!
Overtime, our house collects dust and gathers clutter, then we clean it. This can only justify that this is the least our minds deserve. We go through so much emotional change, daily stress, and worldly expectations, however I encourage you to not let these things have power over your emotional clutter anymore. Let's declutter our self-doubt, worries, fears, and failures together!
